1. to pay with fire : आग से खेलना, to take foolish risks

F He is playing with fire by investing his entire money in the share market.

 

2. to play one’s cards well/right : to act in such a way as to gain maximum advantage.

If you want to succeed in life, you must play your cards right.

 

3. to play second fiddle : किसी के अधीन काम करना, अप्रधान होना, to play a subordinate part.

He is very authoritative in the office but at home he plays second fiddle to his wife.

 

4. to play truant : बिना अनुमति स्कूल/ऑफिस से चम्पत हो जाना, to absent oneself from school/office without permission

It is a very bad habit of students to play truant from the college.

 

5. to play ducks and drakes : धन व्यर्थ खर्च करना, to waste money foolishly

He got into heady debt by playing ducks and drakes with his money.
