abridged (adj.) – shortened संक्षिप्त

I have only read abridged edition of his book.

 

abrogate / ऐब्रॅगेट / verb

to officially end (a law, agreement, custom, etc.) (अधिकारिक तौर पर) निरस्त करना, रद्द करना, समाप्त करना

The trade treaty with Pakistan has been abrogated µ The new government of Nepal may abrogate all treaties with India.

 

abrupt / अब्रप्ट / adj.

  1. आकस्मिक, अप्रत्याशित, अचानक

Our discussion came to an abrupt end when his wife burst into the room.

Their friendship came to an abrupt end.

There was an abrupt change in the weather and it started raining cats and dogs.

I was shocked at the abrupt reply from my subordinate.

Some staff members are abrupt and impatient with customers.

 

abscond / अब्स्कॉन्ड / verb

to go away or escape from a place secretly, often with something that doesn’t belong to you. गायब / फरार हो जाना, भाग जाना

He was put into jail but absconded within a few days.

She has absconded from boarding school with her boyfriend.

One of the employees had absconded with the company’s cash.

 

absolve / अब्जॉल्व / verb

to officially free somebody from guilt, blame or responsibility. मुक्त करना, दायित्व से मुक्त करना

The court has absolved him from / of all charges of theft.

The report absolved the driver from any blame for the accident.

You cannot be absolved of all responsibility for the accident.

The priest absolved him from all his sins.
